What do i want to create today?

One of my drawing teachers in Seattle made a huge impression on how to start each creative project. She said, move your body. And move it big. She would have us stand at our easel and wave our arms around and wiggle all over, then start drawing big circles on the paper, and on and on and on.

This is a really great way to approach any creative project. Just start moving.

There are two types of painters/drawers, so said my Paris teacher. There is the shadow and shade and subtle depths kind, and then there are the line artists, kind of in your face and so, so precise.

I was convinced I was the first type of painter, very nuanced and mysterious. But, well, no. Drawing after drawing, the lines came out. Definitely all about the lines

Delicate is not usually a theme in my creative process, except maybe in photography. Drawing, metal work, and poetry tend to be oversized.

Inspirational Quote

“maintenant ou jamais”

The Crew

A Team like no other

leo and greyson Aka the two tails

So, do you want to hear a poem?

The watcher

A poem dedicated to my cats, The Two Tails

He is forever watching

When I stir in my sleep

Or go from bed to shower

And still as I dress

Eyes remote

Lazy

Nothing new to see

But for the indolence of the habit

He walks me to the door

To remind me of his need

As my hand hovers

He presses in

Confident in his hold over me
